Tennis in Lockdown
Under Tier 0 (zero) rules we can continue playing tennis as long as we continue to observe the latest Covid playing guidelines.
Both Singles and Doubles are currently permitted. Players of all ages must observe social distancing rules and observe Club Covid Guidelines.
Any child who plays in non Yellow Ball groups (11 and under) must still be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children who play Yellow Ball do not now need to be accompanied by an Adult, but must behave responsibly and observe general tennis etiquette. (See the posters around the courts).
See Use of Tennis Floodlights guidance on the Club Guide page.
PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR LIGHTS WHEN LEAVING, AND ENSURE ALL LIGHTS ARE OFF IF YOU ARE LAST TO LEAVE AT ANY TIME OF DAY.
See the latest Covid-19 Guidance documents from Tennis Scotland HERE.
You must use the Online Court Booking application to book your sessions. Courts must be booked via ClubSpark and CANCELLED if you change your mind. (Non-conformance is now being monitored and a penalty policy will be implemented soon for those not cancelling unused courts.)
We are now able to accept occasional Guests to play at Hillhead when escorted by a member and observing Covid-19 guidelines. Members are permitted to bring up to 2 guests per month free of charge, but must refrain from bringing the same guest more than 3 times in one year. Members are responsible for booking courts and retaining contact details of their guests in the event of a Track And Trace requirement at the Club.
Members are reminded to please carry your Membership Card (or your welcome email) and be prepared to show it.
PLEASE BOOK ONLINE HERE (https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/HillheadLTC/Coaching). Numbers per session are restricted and we are required to collect Track and Trace data. Our coaches operate social distancing and hygiene measures.
These are operating on evenings when court availability permits and currently require online booking for Track and Trace data. Please book here (https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/HillheadLTC/Coaching )
Access to Courts
Enter the courts via the main gate at the car park side of the clubhouse. If you have the first booking you will need to open the padlock with the code. Open both gates and lock the padlock onto a gate. If you are the last player to leave the court lock the gate (at any time of day). The code for the padlocks can be provided by any committee member or by emailing email@example.com
PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE COURTS UNLOCKED IF NO ONE IS PLAYING.
Follow the posters and other signage around the courts. Practice strict social distancing and hygiene procedures at all times.
- Use the hand sanitiser provided when arriving and leaving.
- Stop playing five minutes before the hour and start playing 5 minutes after the hour.
- Bring disposable gloves or sanitize before and after dragging the courts.
- Do not leave any possessions behind and ensure all rubbish is put fully in the bins.
Winter Court Maintenance
The Club policy is to let snow and ice thaw naturally. Please do not brush or scrape the courts to try to remove snow and ice. This displaces the sand, damages the fibres, accelerates wear and causes dead spots. Be patient. Wait for it to thaw.
